If you are experiencing microphone problems during the equipment check, please follow these steps:
Confirm that access to the microphone is allowed in your browser.
For Chrome:
- Click the three dots icon in the top right corner of your Chrome browser.
- Navigate to the “Settings” option.
- On the left side of the Settings menu, select “Privacy and Security.”
- Under the “Permissions” section, click on “Site Settings.”
- Look for the “Microphone” option and click on it.
- Confirm that the GC application is allowed to use your microphone. If not, select the GC application and allow microphone usage.
For Mozilla:
Click the three lines icon in the top right corner of your Mozilla browser.
- Navigate to the “Settings” option.
- On the left side of the Settings menu, select “Privacy and Security.”
- Scroll down and find the “Permissions” section.
- Click on the “Settings” button next to the “Microphone” option.
- Confirm that the GC application is allowed to use your microphone. If not, select the GC application and allow microphone usage.
Note: If the microphone is enabled but still doesn’t work, disable it and enable it again.
Allow microphone usage in the computer settings:
- In the search box in the bottom left corner, enter “microphone”.
- Open “Microphone privacy settings”.
- Confirm that microphone usage is allowed.
- Scroll down the page and confirm that microphone usage is permitted for the browser you are using to take the test.
Use headphones or another computer:
If the microphone still doesn’t work after trying the above steps, try using headphones with a built-in microphone or another computer to take the test.
